Bob Elston

Bob Elston -

Bob Elston would be the first person to tell you that it's not about him, you or me but that it's about Traditional Country Music and the importance of preserving and upholding it not only here in Maine but the world over.
Bob became interested on country music at an early age and learned to play the guitar soon thereafter. He first appeared on a radio show in Rockland at the age of 17. In 1958 Bob joined the very popular Curly O' Brian Country Music TV show in Bangor.
Later while serving in the military in the 60’s, Bob formed a band called The Roadrangers which toured Texas and New Mexico.
Bob Elstons career has seen him working with such greats as Bill Anderson, Skeeter Davis, Bill Carlisle, Jeanie C. Riley, Roy Acuff, Hank Williams Jr. and countless others.
In 2001 Bob was inducted into the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2002 Bob co-founded the Maine Academy of Country Music where he held the position of president for several years and is country music historian today.
Bob and his Roadrangers continue to tour regularly throughout Maine appearing at County Fairs and Country Music Shows, holding Music Jams in the region and participating in various fund raising events.
